Interview with Danielle Benzon: How Connection, Community & Coaching Help Us Grow

Interview with Danielle Benzon: How Connection, Community & Coaching Help Us Grow

In this season finale of Positively Yours, Tiff sits down with speaking coach Danielle Benzon to explore the power of connection, community, and saying yes to new opportunities. They reflect on their coaching journey, launching the Inspired Speaker Network, and how embracing support, experimentation, and imperfection can help us grow. Ultimately, this episode is a reminder that great days can be intentionally created by surrounding ourselves with people who encourage, challenge, and believe in us.

The Shift Beneath the Words:

  • The power of saying yes to the right opportunities
  • Choosing the right people to support your growth
  • Growth doesn’t require perfection
  • Making challenges fun and playful

Community and connection help create great days - Intentionally surrounding yourself with supportive people gives you somewhere to turn when things are difficult and people to celebrate with when things go well.

Speaker:

Hey, everybody.

Speaker:

Are you having a great day?

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Oh no, you're not.

Speaker:

It's okay.

Speaker:

I got you.

Speaker:

I'm Tif Loeffler.

Speaker:

Welcome to Positively Yours.

Speaker:

I'm going to share Tif's tips, techniques, and

Speaker:

a little bit of magic to help you

Speaker:

up level and have a great day every

Speaker:

day.

Speaker:

Are you ready to get started?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Oh, you're not?

Speaker:

That's okay.

Speaker:

I still got you.

Speaker:

Let's go.

Speaker:

Oh my gosh, everybody.

Speaker:

I am so excited.

Speaker:

Because I have a guest today.

Speaker:

I love interviewing people.

Speaker:

I love bringing people to other people.

Speaker:

I love being a connector.

Speaker:

That's one of the ways to have a

Speaker:

great day for me is to connect with

Speaker:

people.

Speaker:

It's just the best.

Speaker:

Now, moving forward, I have made the executive

Speaker:

decision that I would like to have a

Speaker:

top Tif tip for having a great day

Speaker:

at the beginning of each podcast episode.

Speaker:

Today's is one that is a personal favorite.

Speaker:

I call it a celestial service announcement because

Speaker:

when it rains, it pours and I'm talking

Speaker:

about water.

Speaker:

So Tif's top tip for having a great

Speaker:

day is to make sure that you stay

Speaker:

hydrated.

Speaker:

There are many schools of thought.

Speaker:

Some people say you have to have eight

Speaker:

glasses of water.

Speaker:

Some people say just drink whatever you're thirsty.

Speaker:

I'm feeling slightly parched.

Speaker:

I am actually going to take a sip

Speaker:

of water right now.

Speaker:

And if you have a glass, I raise

Speaker:

this to you and we can have a

Speaker:

sip of water together.

Speaker:

And I just think it's important to make

Speaker:

sure that you have a glass of water

Speaker:

with you throughout the day.

Speaker:

You certainly don't want to be dehydrated.

Speaker:

That is no way to have a great

Speaker:

day.

Speaker:

So to recap, water is awesome.

Speaker:

We are mostly made of water.

Speaker:

We need to have some water.

Speaker:

And I have this, I think this is

Speaker:

very cute.

Speaker:

I heard this from a doctor and she

Speaker:

said, no matter what happens with the rest

Speaker:

of the day, I know I had a

Speaker:

great day.

Speaker:

She actually said this because I had a

Speaker:

glass of water as soon as I got

Speaker:

up in the morning.

Speaker:

And I thought that was great.

Speaker:

So this is even a tip on how

Speaker:

to start your day off.

Speaker:

Great is to no matter what, just take

Speaker:

a glass of water, throw that thing down.

Speaker:

You're going to feel great.

Speaker:

And throughout the rest of the day, you

Speaker:

can just say, look, no matter what, I

Speaker:

had that glass of water.

Speaker:

Remember, it's also nice to have a little

Speaker:

prompt that you can continually go back to

Speaker:

and feel good about and celebrate because in

Speaker:

season two, I am so excited that I

Speaker:

am going to have so many more tips,

Speaker:

so many ideas of how a great day

Speaker:

can be created.

Speaker:

And yet sometimes autopilot is nice too.

Speaker:

When you're just wait, I didn't even realize

Speaker:

I'm having a great day.

Speaker:

Ooh, yes I am.

Speaker:

Now for me, I have really enjoyed looking

Speaker:

at how to have a great day through

Speaker:

the lens of this podcast experience.

Speaker:

So just a moment, I am going to

Speaker:

bring on my very first guest and this

Speaker:

woman is near and dear to my heart.

Speaker:

She is absolutely phenomenal.

Speaker:

Incredible.

Speaker:

Her hair is gorgeous.

Speaker:

Her face is too.

Speaker:

I could talk to her for days on

Speaker:

end.

Speaker:

I know I'm building this up, but do

Speaker:

you know why it is so important when

Speaker:

you are having a great day to be

Speaker:

able to share it with someone and for

Speaker:

a long time, it was hard for me

Speaker:

to have a great day because I didn't,

Speaker:

I had, I have friends, I have lots

Speaker:

of friends and I'm very lucky, I have

Speaker:

lots of acquaintances.

Speaker:

I have loving family.

Speaker:

And yet once in a while you need

Speaker:

that special someone, you need a mentor, you

Speaker:

need a coach, you need a professional, you

Speaker:

need someone who really can guide you.

Speaker:

And I was so blessed and honored to

Speaker:

be asked to be a part of the

Speaker:

Inspired Speaker Network.

Speaker:

And so without further ado, I simply must

Speaker:

bring her onto the stage.

Speaker:

The incredible, the incomparable Danielle Benzon of the

Speaker:

Inspired Speaker Academy, Danielle, I am so thrilled

Speaker:

that you are here today.

Speaker:

Thank you so much.

Speaker:

Oh, Tif, thank you so much.

Speaker:

I'm absolutely thrilled to be here today.

Speaker:

And you are one of my favorite client

Speaker:

friends that I get to call a client

Speaker:

friend, because sometimes you have friends and sometimes

Speaker:

you have clients and sometimes you get lucky

Speaker:

and one person gets to be both and

Speaker:

you are definitely one of those and thank

Speaker:

you so much for having me here.

Speaker:

I'm honored.

Speaker:

It is my pleasure.

Speaker:

Now, here's what I want to talk about

Speaker:

with you, because I really love to talk

Speaker:

about things through the lens of being a

Speaker:

woman in business and what I was so

Speaker:

appreciative of, this was one day and everybody,

Speaker:

I might take better notes in the future,

Speaker:

but I just go into the way back

Speaker:

machine that there was a day that Danielle

Speaker:

said, Hey Tif, can we have a chat?

Speaker:

I want to bring something up.

Speaker:

I want to see what you think.

Speaker:

And here's the cool part.

Speaker:

Because in business, I've heard a lot of

Speaker:

no, like, and trust.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

It's just, you need to know someone like

Speaker:

someone trust someone.

Speaker:

And the great part about Danielle is that

Speaker:

of course I know her.

Speaker:

Do I like her?

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

And trust her implicitly in ways I, I

Speaker:

didn't even know at the time, but I

Speaker:

said, sure, let's hop on a call.

Speaker:

And she suggested that we work together.

Speaker:

And here's why I want to bring this

Speaker:

up and why Danielle, and I'll give you

Speaker:

a word edgewise in a little bit, but

Speaker:

I was just so excited.

Speaker:

Because here's the deal.

Speaker:

I was ready for some change in my

Speaker:

life, in my business.

Speaker:

And there's a saying that when the student

Speaker:

is ready, the teacher appears.

Speaker:

And Danielle appeared as if she dropped down

Speaker:

from the heavens.

Speaker:

And there was the, and she said, look,

Speaker:

I just, I, I would love to work

Speaker:

with you.

Speaker:

I think I can, you know, I can

Speaker:

help you with this, this, and this, and

Speaker:

what do you think?

Speaker:

And here's what I wanted to share about

Speaker:

that.

Speaker:

Also.

Speaker:

In the past, I would have immediately, my

Speaker:

mind would have gone to, yeah, but how

Speaker:

much is it going to cost?

Speaker:

Because I had such a low self-esteem

Speaker:

on the mindset of could I actually afford

Speaker:

things and is it really going to work

Speaker:

out this time, but here's where I want

Speaker:

to give us all that inspired moment.

Speaker:

And I'm sharing it because it was so

Speaker:

wonderful to have that.

Speaker:

I call it, you know, once in a

Speaker:

lifetime moment and not just for that moment.

Speaker:

And it wasn't just once, but it's kind

Speaker:

of convoluted, but it was just, you know

Speaker:

what, the timing was great.

Speaker:

Maybe I'm going to say great timing.

Speaker:

It was great timing.

Speaker:

And there are going to be moments in

Speaker:

your life where you get to connect with

Speaker:

someone and it is great timing.

Speaker:

And yes, you might think, okay, I don't

Speaker:

know how I'm going to be able to

Speaker:

afford this and my goal, and you know

Speaker:

what?

Speaker:

It's usually not about money.

Speaker:

It's about time.

Speaker:

And if it's not about time, it's about

Speaker:

that self-worth, that esteem.

Speaker:

Can I actually do it?

Speaker:

And yes, finances can play a part.

Speaker:

And when someone offers you this cool thing

Speaker:

that you could do together and you have

Speaker:

that moment where it is either yes, or

Speaker:

it's, I just can't, it's just a no.

Speaker:

And the best part about this was I

Speaker:

was all, I was all yes.

Speaker:

And there wasn't hesitation.

Speaker:

If there was any doubt, well, no, there

Speaker:

was no doubt.

Speaker:

I just wanted to say yes.

Speaker:

And so Danielle, I wanted to thank you

Speaker:

so much.

Speaker:

The reason I also thank you is because

Speaker:

you didn't know what you didn't know about

Speaker:

my circumstances at the time.

Speaker:

And you, I feel we're taking a stand

Speaker:

for my greatness and wanted to offer something

Speaker:

and just see what happens.

Speaker:

And really it's not what it's all about.

Speaker:

And I was able to say yes.

Speaker:

And I was so glad I said yes.

Speaker:

And now asking you, do you, I, you

Speaker:

know, it's just kind of fun.

Speaker:

I don't mean to put you on the

Speaker:

spotlight.

Speaker:

Do you remember like, you know, like, Ooh,

Speaker:

I wonder like, Ooh, maybe she's ready to

Speaker:

work with me.

Speaker:

And because we had just kind of recently

Speaker:

been reconnected, we had known each other for

Speaker:

a while, just hadn't seen each other.

Speaker:

Then all of a sudden I saw you

Speaker:

again.

Speaker:

I was like, this is awesome.

Speaker:

And then we're talking and then the offer.

Speaker:

And I'm like, yes.

Speaker:

So what, what did you have?

Speaker:

Do you have anything to, to comment on

Speaker:

that once in a lifetime, but maybe it's

Speaker:

not once in a lifetime, but it's the

Speaker:

great moment.

Speaker:

It's just feels great.

Speaker:

You work with someone.

Speaker:

I like that's a great moment.

Speaker:

A great moment.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

I have something to say about our great

Speaker:

moment.

Speaker:

I definitely, uh, I I'm not one to

Speaker:

just go out and solicit my services.

Speaker:

That's not really my style.

Speaker:

I don't do cold calls.

Speaker:

I don't do that kind of thing.

Speaker:

And we, we did know each other and

Speaker:

we had connected and I only do that.

Speaker:

I don't do it very often.

Speaker:

I only do it with people I really

Speaker:

like.

Speaker:

I'm like, Oh, I really like this person.

Speaker:

I really like to work with them and

Speaker:

people who have indicated to me that they

Speaker:

have a problem that I could solve.

Speaker:

So you may not have said it to

Speaker:

me directly, but at some point in our

Speaker:

conversation, like in a networking group or something,

Speaker:

you'd said something about wanting to improve your

Speaker:

speaking skills, or you'd said something about.

Speaker:

You said something that made my ears go,

Speaker:

Oh, Oh, maybe I can help.

Speaker:

So it wasn't just that I was like,

Speaker:

Oh, I'm going to call everyone on the

Speaker:

networking group.

Speaker:

It wasn't like that at all.

Speaker:

That is not how I work.

Speaker:

Tif and I had a connection.

Speaker:

I already knew that I loved you just

Speaker:

yourself and that we'd, we'd be a good

Speaker:

fit to work with each other.

Speaker:

Cause I loved your energy.

Speaker:

And then you said something that made me

Speaker:

think, Oh, Tif is working on something.

Speaker:

She has a goal that I help people

Speaker:

with.

Speaker:

Maybe she'd be interested.

Speaker:

It doesn't hurt to ask.

Speaker:

And so that was my attitude going in.

Speaker:

I wasn't like, Oh, I need to make

Speaker:

a sale or I don't network that way

Speaker:

at all.

Speaker:

And I seldom approach people from networking groups

Speaker:

with my services, but she had mentioned it.

Speaker:

I knew we vibed really well.

Speaker:

And I thought, you know, what's the worst

Speaker:

that can happen?

Speaker:

What's it can happen if she says no,

Speaker:

and we have a great conversation.

Speaker:

So, you know, there's really no, there's no

Speaker:

lose in that.

Speaker:

So I thought, why not just try it?

Speaker:

And I do, I'm very careful about, because

Speaker:

my services are extremely high touch.

Speaker:

I spend a lot of time with my

Speaker:

clients.

Speaker:

I am very careful who I offer, who

Speaker:

I make offers to because we have to

Speaker:

be a good fit.

Speaker:

It's, it's like choosing, choosing a speaking coach,

Speaker:

choosing any sort of coach.

Speaker:

It's kind of the same as choosing a

Speaker:

therapist or anything else.

Speaker:

You have to get along.

Speaker:

And it's very much about the relationship.

Speaker:

So we already had a good relationship.

Speaker:

So it was a lot easier for me.

Speaker:

Oh, I am so glad to hear you

Speaker:

say that.

Speaker:

And I love that you brought that up

Speaker:

because I do want to let people know

Speaker:

that you're in business.

Speaker:

You have a service to offer.

Speaker:

You have things to give people.

Speaker:

It is everything right and great to offer

Speaker:

that to people when the moment presents itself.

Speaker:

And I just think that's so important.

Speaker:

And what I also love it, and there's

Speaker:

just like so much flowing in my head

Speaker:

right now that I wanted to ask you,

Speaker:

but I will say this.

Speaker:

The best part about, well, there's so many

Speaker:

parts, but one of them is that, yes,

Speaker:

Danielle, thank you for bringing up the high

Speaker:

touch.

Speaker:

It is well worth the investment for me

Speaker:

to be your client because I appreciate how

Speaker:

much you give and it is so appreciated.

Speaker:

And I couldn't thank you enough, especially in

Speaker:

the next part that I want to talk

Speaker:

about, but especially that there, there are people,

Speaker:

I've heard this said about like a coach

Speaker:

is like a professional friend.

Speaker:

And I thought that was kind of cute.

Speaker:

And I like that because a coach, you

Speaker:

do need to, you, you do like someone

Speaker:

who's a friend, but you also need someone

Speaker:

who's going to guide you in a way

Speaker:

that they, they're just, they're seeing how you

Speaker:

need that.

Speaker:

And I appreciate in the initial conversations.

Speaker:

And as we were developing this relationship and

Speaker:

how you were helping me and joining your,

Speaker:

your course for speaking, which by the way

Speaker:

is super awesome.

Speaker:

And we just wrapped up, which, okay.

Speaker:

I'm only going to do this just for

Speaker:

a moment, because here's the great part.

Speaker:

When you work with someone, there's always a

Speaker:

way to continue.

Speaker:

We only wrapped up part one.

Speaker:

We only wrapped up part one.

Speaker:

Okay, good.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

That's it.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Thank you.

Speaker:

There's more.

Speaker:

Because if there's one thing I would also

Speaker:

offer is just a little tidbit for someone.

Speaker:

It's just to make sure that when you

Speaker:

have the end of a certain segment in

Speaker:

your goods or services, there are some of

Speaker:

us that are squishy marshmallows.

Speaker:

And when you go, okay, yep, that's it.

Speaker:

We're done.

Speaker:

We're just like, oh.

Speaker:

That not might be what you mean, but

Speaker:

little did I know that not only were

Speaker:

we engaging in this amazing speaking course, but

Speaker:

then Danielle do tell, what did you drop

Speaker:

into my lap?

Speaker:

That was a gift that I was not

Speaker:

expecting.

Speaker:

And it was about this big and I

Speaker:

could barely see over the edge of it.

Speaker:

And it had to do with the podcast.

Speaker:

Oh, I don't know.

Speaker:

What gift did I give you?

Speaker:

Oh yes.

Speaker:

Well, again, I mean, you say it's a

Speaker:

gift.

Speaker:

I mean, it's a product.

Speaker:

We are again, working together.

Speaker:

So it was an opportunity, but it was

Speaker:

a special opportunity because launching this network, I

Speaker:

needed to choose who I was going to

Speaker:

launch with.

Speaker:

You can't launch a network all by yourself.

Speaker:

Well, you can, but then you're the only

Speaker:

person on the podcast.

Speaker:

Well, that's really embarrassing.

Speaker:

So I needed to find people that I

Speaker:

liked that I wanted to launch with and,

Speaker:

you know, work with and figure it out

Speaker:

together with, because this is an adventure for

Speaker:

me too.

Speaker:

So I, yeah, I just, I went through

Speaker:

my clients who I knew were interested in

Speaker:

podcasting.

Speaker:

I went through my clients who I knew

Speaker:

should be doing a podcast, even if they

Speaker:

hadn't mentioned it.

Speaker:

And also friends and people that I knew,

Speaker:

and I made a short list of, I

Speaker:

think, I think I made a short list

Speaker:

of seven and five said yes.

Speaker:

So that was pretty amazing.

Speaker:

And Tif was definitely on the, well, obviously

Speaker:

you were on the short list, but you

Speaker:

were right up there, right up, right up

Speaker:

there on the short list.

Speaker:

Because we'd already, and we'd already kind of,

Speaker:

we'd had a prototype already because we did

Speaker:

a couple of live streams because I was

Speaker:

thinking, damn, I got to get Tif doing

Speaker:

a podcast and she wasn't taking any of

Speaker:

my hints.

Speaker:

So, so what I did instead was I

Speaker:

invited her to do a few lives with

Speaker:

me on LinkedIn.

Speaker:

And we had such a great time doing

Speaker:

that.

Speaker:

I thought that would make it an easier,

Speaker:

an easier sell for you to do your

Speaker:

own podcast now, because you could tell that

Speaker:

you could do it.

Speaker:

I am chuckling, but I want to, if

Speaker:

I had a drink of water and do

Speaker:

the spit take, because that is the first

Speaker:

time I have heard you say that.

Speaker:

Like, that's why we did the lives on

Speaker:

LinkedIn.

Speaker:

I thought they were so great.

Speaker:

And then we didn't do them anymore.

Speaker:

And I was all like, I'm so sad.

Speaker:

Well, we're not doing them anymore.

Speaker:

Then she brought this opportunity again, another once

Speaker:

in a lifetime.

Speaker:

That's why it's like, is it once in

Speaker:

a lifetime?

Speaker:

It's whatever that opportunity happens in your lifetime.

Speaker:

You just feel it feels right.

Speaker:

And it feels great.

Speaker:

And I don't know if I had mentioned

Speaker:

to you at some point, I did want

Speaker:

to actually have a podcast, but I didn't

Speaker:

know what that entailed.

Speaker:

But guess what I thought it entailed.

Speaker:

I thought it entailed a lot of stuff

Speaker:

I don't know how to do.

Speaker:

So I don't know if I can do

Speaker:

it.

Speaker:

Probably can't do a podcast.

Speaker:

And I tried before and it was just

Speaker:

too hard.

Speaker:

And then I just didn't do it.

Speaker:

And it's not that I gave up on

Speaker:

it, but it was certainly in the back

Speaker:

burner.

Speaker:

And then you just brought it right to

Speaker:

the front and said, and now that as

Speaker:

we're talking, I, of course, we'll try to

Speaker:

incorporate why I feel this is how we

Speaker:

have a great day.

Speaker:

You know how to have that positively great

Speaker:

day.

Speaker:

Well, here's the deal.

Speaker:

It's really nice to have consistent times with

Speaker:

people who are helping you uplevel, grow, stretch.

Speaker:

Maybe there's a little bit of struggle.

Speaker:

Maybe there's a little bit of, I don't

Speaker:

know if I could do this.

Speaker:

Someone who has your back and Danielle, I

Speaker:

can tell you absolutely has her clients back.

Speaker:

Like you go to bat, you are there

Speaker:

in ways that I, I just, I still,

Speaker:

to this day, I'm so impressed with and

Speaker:

I really appreciate it.

Speaker:

And it just means so much.

Speaker:

And the only reason that I, I can't

Speaker:

tear up at this moment is because I

Speaker:

just start bawling.

Speaker:

And then the whole rest of this would

Speaker:

be like, I love you so much, but

Speaker:

it's true because having a great day, truly,

Speaker:

I just feel it's the key of C

Speaker:

and I like saying that.

Speaker:

Cause I kind of just thought of that

Speaker:

during the season one, but I really like

Speaker:

it.

Speaker:

And for me, the key of C, the

Speaker:

one is connection.

Speaker:

You want to be connected to your great

Speaker:

day.

Speaker:

If you want to be connected with people

Speaker:

who help you stay connected to having a

Speaker:

great day.

Speaker:

And once in a while, I'll admit Danielle

Speaker:

has told me some things gently guided me

Speaker:

or flat out said things.

Speaker:

And I'm like, I think one of my

Speaker:

favorites I'd like to share with everybody.

Speaker:

And when she you've said, you've got to

Speaker:

make a decision because I up until a

Speaker:

certain point, I was just so awfully, I

Speaker:

love waffles, but you should eat them.

Speaker:

You shouldn't be them.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I should not be a waffle where I'm

Speaker:

like, maybe this, maybe that.

Speaker:

And thank you, Danielle.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Just it's saying, taking that declaration, make a

Speaker:

decision.

Speaker:

You can always change it, but you have

Speaker:

to make a decision.

Speaker:

It's been a very long time since someone

Speaker:

has said that to me.

Speaker:

And you said it in a way that

Speaker:

was direct and loving and all the things.

Speaker:

And I'm so grateful that I, I just

Speaker:

thought, okay, I will start to take direction.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I'm going to start to make decisions.

Speaker:

And I appreciate that.

Speaker:

I would, I would love to jump in

Speaker:

here if that's okay, please, please.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Because you said something a little, a little

Speaker:

while back, I'm going to backtrack a tiny

Speaker:

bit.

Speaker:

You said something about how, you know, we

Speaker:

have a lot of fun together and, but

Speaker:

it's also challenging.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And for me, I think that is essential.

Speaker:

It is really difficult to master any sort

Speaker:

of skill if it's always hard, you know,

Speaker:

because you're not going to do it because

Speaker:

it's unpleasant.

Speaker:

It's not fun.

Speaker:

Why would you do it more?

Speaker:

Why would you do it?

Speaker:

So creating as much fun and as much

Speaker:

play in a process that is inherently difficult,

Speaker:

like public speaking or inherently scary, I think

Speaker:

that's where the magic happens.

Speaker:

Because if we're not having fun, if we're

Speaker:

not enjoying the process, if we don't have

Speaker:

each other's back and we're not, we're not

Speaker:

giggling and you know, all that stuff, doing

Speaker:

the difficult stuff becomes impossible.

Speaker:

So having that mix of levity, it doesn't

Speaker:

make, it doesn't undermine it.

Speaker:

It's not about distracting from the pain.

Speaker:

It's about allowing yourself to embrace the pain

Speaker:

through laughter.

Speaker:

You know, we're humans.

Speaker:

We do this very human thing where we

Speaker:

like to mix emotions together.

Speaker:

And there's a very big difference between playing

Speaker:

the fool to distract from the lesson and

Speaker:

using the pain or the challenge of the

Speaker:

lesson to create fun and to create joy

Speaker:

and silliness and play.

Speaker:

And those are two very, very different things.

Speaker:

And you do this very well, Tif.

Speaker:

And I think this is extremely important.

Speaker:

And there was something else I wanted to

Speaker:

say.

Speaker:

Ah, oh, and as a theatre kid, I

Speaker:

really feel this and especially doing this podcast

Speaker:

network because we did this whole thing in

Speaker:

a month.

Speaker:

And it was a challenge.

Speaker:

It was a challenge for all of us.

Speaker:

It was especially a challenge for James and

Speaker:

I to, we had many sleepless nights getting

Speaker:

deadlines, but it was so fun.

Speaker:

It was so much fun because we had

Speaker:

this deadline, we're all coming together.

Speaker:

It wasn't, you know, it's not brain surgery.

Speaker:

If we don't hit the deadline, no one

Speaker:

dies.

Speaker:

So there was that.

Speaker:

But also we all really wanted to hit

Speaker:

it because we were so close.

Speaker:

And the way the group came together, that,

Speaker:

that reminded me of my theatre kid days

Speaker:

when you're all, you're like, oh, we've got,

Speaker:

we've got a week to put this production

Speaker:

on and the costumes aren't ready and the

Speaker:

lights aren't ready.

Speaker:

And I don't know my lines.

Speaker:

And how's this all going to happen?

Speaker:

And then somehow it just magically all comes

Speaker:

together at the last minute.

Speaker:

And somehow on opening night, everything is amazing.

Speaker:

And it kind of felt the same way.

Speaker:

This, this podcast launch, this network launch rather,

Speaker:

the network launch felt like putting on a

Speaker:

play.

Speaker:

And that opening night was amazing.

Speaker:

And it just, it gave me something special.

Speaker:

So thank you for being part of that,

Speaker:

Tif.

Speaker:

And for everyone who was part of it,

Speaker:

I'm indebted to you all.

Speaker:

I thank you so much because I love

Speaker:

to be a part of this network and

Speaker:

yours is the Inspired Speaker podcast.

Speaker:

I hope I'm saying that right.

Speaker:

Did I get it right?

Speaker:

And we also have Surfing Your Edge and

Speaker:

The Guiding Parent and Awakening Women on the

Speaker:

Rise and also Evolving with Elle.

Speaker:

So I have to make sure that in

Speaker:

the notes, everybody's podcasts are in there because

Speaker:

I am so excited for all of us.

Speaker:

They want to make sure that right away

Speaker:

I was like, yes, we are absolutely going

Speaker:

to promote because it's so important.

Speaker:

Because if I were to have one more

Speaker:

point about this, that I really appreciate about

Speaker:

working with Danielle and spoiler alert, I'm going

Speaker:

to be talking with Danielle throughout season two,

Speaker:

because there's so many other things that I

Speaker:

want to talk to her about.

Speaker:

And we just can't have it in one

Speaker:

episode.

Speaker:

So season two is going to be a

Speaker:

lot of, we need a whole season and

Speaker:

that's what's happening.

Speaker:

I'm so excited.

Speaker:

And this is a part of that connection,

Speaker:

that group, that I'm going to say sisterhood,

Speaker:

that you helped us create all of the

Speaker:

ladies with our podcasts.

Speaker:

And I'm just so grateful because talk about

Speaker:

setting ourselves up to have great days.

Speaker:

I was pretty impressed that we got it

Speaker:

together when we did.

Speaker:

Also again, Danielle, I think it was so

Speaker:

awesome and funny when later on you told

Speaker:

us, you said, guess what?

Speaker:

It was an arbitrary date that I picked

Speaker:

because we just had to pick a date.

Speaker:

Otherwise, two years from now, we can still

Speaker:

be talking about it.

Speaker:

And there was no time for talk.

Speaker:

The world needs us now.

Speaker:

And we did this together.

Speaker:

And speaking of, you know, we're, as I'm

Speaker:

wrapping up this season with you, which is

Speaker:

awesome.

Speaker:

And now season two will be together, be

Speaker:

even more awesome.

Speaker:

We are still on a journey.

Speaker:

Together, all of us in our different podcasts.

Speaker:

And I think that's so tremendous.

Speaker:

And we have this, we have this bond

Speaker:

now.

Speaker:

We have this energy that is helping us

Speaker:

to sustain those, those great days, which I

Speaker:

love.

Speaker:

I'm just so excited because I have things

Speaker:

to look forward to.

Speaker:

And, and that's just means a lot to

Speaker:

me.

Speaker:

Thank you.

Speaker:

And that was something surprising everybody.

Speaker:

If I were to say, it's really fun

Speaker:

to have surprises in your, in your having

Speaker:

a great day means having some surprises.

Speaker:

And one of the surprises for me was,

Speaker:

wow, they're going to be a part of

Speaker:

my future great days.

Speaker:

And this is an awesome thing.

Speaker:

And I'm really excited.

Speaker:

And it gives me a boldness and feeling

Speaker:

of responsibility.

Speaker:

And it feels really great.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I do think that that's really important.

Speaker:

I think community as part of having a

Speaker:

great day, as part of your, as part

Speaker:

of your system.

Speaker:

You know, that you maintain to help you

Speaker:

to continue to have a great day.

Speaker:

Cause it doesn't happen by accident.

Speaker:

It's definitely from knowing Tif, I have learned

Speaker:

many things about having a great day.

Speaker:

And one of the things that I've learned

Speaker:

is that you design it and you plan

Speaker:

for it.

Speaker:

And that is one of the things that

Speaker:

you need to curate is a community because

Speaker:

when you are alone and something bad happens,

Speaker:

the only person who can pull you out

Speaker:

of it is yourself and you're already having

Speaker:

a bad day.

Speaker:

So that's much harder to do.

Speaker:

Whereas if you have a group of people,

Speaker:

when you get knocked down, you can just

Speaker:

call someone and say, Hey, just help me

Speaker:

out.

Speaker:

I'm not having a great day.

Speaker:

And just that connection is sometimes enough, but

Speaker:

often they have something wonderful to say as

Speaker:

well.

Speaker:

And this group has really, oh, you have

Speaker:

supported each other in a way that I

Speaker:

didn't imagine.

Speaker:

It was a surprise to me, but it's

Speaker:

so exciting because I did, I had this

Speaker:

fantasy about creating this community and everyone's going

Speaker:

to be together.

Speaker:

And I do think that the short timeline

Speaker:

was a huge part of that.

Speaker:

I don't think it'd be as close as

Speaker:

you are if I'd given you more time.

Speaker:

So I do think that it was a

Speaker:

very smart but manipulative decision on my part

Speaker:

to create our random launch date.

Speaker:

But also you have all, you all took

Speaker:

the challenge, you all stepped up and not

Speaker:

only stepped up for yourselves, but you stepped

Speaker:

up for each other.

Speaker:

And the amount of support and love I

Speaker:

have seen in this group, it gives me

Speaker:

hope for humanity, you know?

Speaker:

I feel that.

Speaker:

I do.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I thank you because, well, I love

Speaker:

that you talked about manipulation.

Speaker:

My boyfriend likes to say it's positive manipulation.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

But also what a savvy business move.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

And also understanding the psychology of the human

Speaker:

brain, it was fantastic.

Speaker:

We all, it wasn't trial by fire though.

Speaker:

It was just, it was a short timeframe,

Speaker:

but you also gave us the tools and

Speaker:

you gave us your support and you gave

Speaker:

us a framework, a blueprint.

Speaker:

And that is so wonderful because you know

Speaker:

what?

Speaker:

You can have your organic great days, the

Speaker:

days that just pop up.

Speaker:

There's just like, yep, it's just happening, which

Speaker:

is great.

Speaker:

But again, sometimes it's a challenge to rely

Speaker:

on that, especially when you have a great

Speaker:

project you're working on, like helping launch a

Speaker:

podcast network.

Speaker:

And so that's where the planning and the

Speaker:

support come in.

Speaker:

And I just am so delighted that we've

Speaker:

had some time together.

Speaker:

Is there, is there anything else that you

Speaker:

would like to add about the experience of

Speaker:

launching this network?

Speaker:

Because I think this is tremendous that you

Speaker:

are helping so many people have great days,

Speaker:

not just for us who have been a

Speaker:

part of this first level launch, the initial

Speaker:

launch, but also all the people who are

Speaker:

going to be listening to our podcast.

Speaker:

I'm just so excited.

Speaker:

People are already listening.

Speaker:

It's very exciting.

Speaker:

I know people are listening to us speak

Speaker:

right now.

Speaker:

Isn't that crazy?

Speaker:

Oh, right.

Speaker:

Yeah, no, I do think it was, it

Speaker:

was a really surprising experience.

Speaker:

I learned so much.

Speaker:

I think we all grew a lot over

Speaker:

the last month.

Speaker:

I definitely grew in ways I wasn't expecting.

Speaker:

I learned things that I don't think I

Speaker:

would have learned if I hadn't put myself

Speaker:

under pressure.

Speaker:

But it was, it was wonderful because typically

Speaker:

when I give myself projects, I put myself

Speaker:

under way too much pressure and I don't

Speaker:

have enough support and I burn out and

Speaker:

I collapse.

Speaker:

And this was the first time in a

Speaker:

long time that I've had enough support that

Speaker:

the goals were realistic.

Speaker:

There was a push, but they were realistic.

Speaker:

And also if we didn't reach them, I

Speaker:

had a backup plan as well.

Speaker:

So there was also that.

Speaker:

So that was nice.

Speaker:

I didn't want to use the backup plan

Speaker:

for pride, but there was one, so it

Speaker:

was okay.

Speaker:

And there were just so many things that

Speaker:

came together magically that I didn't anticipate.

Speaker:

But also the big gift was that the

Speaker:

five of you kind of dived in blind

Speaker:

with me.

Speaker:

I said, Hey, I want to do this

Speaker:

thing.

Speaker:

I've never done it before.

Speaker:

I have a good idea of what I'm

Speaker:

doing, but I know that I only know

Speaker:

50%.

Speaker:

You know, you know, you don't know what

Speaker:

you don't know.

Speaker:

And I was very aware that I didn't

Speaker:

know what I didn't know going in.

Speaker:

I think I planned well, but you never

Speaker:

know.

Speaker:

I'm anticipating a lot of challenges, unforeseen challenges

Speaker:

along the way.

Speaker:

This is a big experiment.

Speaker:

Would you like to come and be guinea

Speaker:

pigs essentially with me?

Speaker:

And you were all so keen.

Speaker:

It was so fun to experiment and to

Speaker:

be allowed to be messy and to be

Speaker:

allowed to not know what I was doing

Speaker:

and to go like, Hey, I'm going to

Speaker:

figure it out.

Speaker:

I know what our goal is.

Speaker:

I know at least 50% of the

Speaker:

pieces.

Speaker:

We'll figure out the other pieces on the

Speaker:

way.

Speaker:

As long as we keep communicating, as long

Speaker:

as everyone stays flexible and stays positive, we'll

Speaker:

get this done.

Speaker:

And it was such a wonderful experience because

Speaker:

that need to be perfect and to know

Speaker:

everything before you start, that's a very strong

Speaker:

temptation.

Speaker:

And I very purposefully, like Christine Goad of

Speaker:

Surfing the Edge says, you know, you got

Speaker:

to just sometimes you just got to throw

Speaker:

yourself into the deep end and see what

Speaker:

happens.

Speaker:

And I am not usually one who does

Speaker:

that kind of thing, especially with my speakers,

Speaker:

because I don't believe in shocking the nervous

Speaker:

system.

Speaker:

But this wasn't that.

Speaker:

This wasn't throwing us into the deep end.

Speaker:

It was just, I've got a challenge.

Speaker:

It's a realistic, it's a big challenge, but

Speaker:

it's a realistic challenge.

Speaker:

And I just want to be messy and

Speaker:

experiment and see how far we get.

Speaker:

And you all came with me and we

Speaker:

got way further than I thought we would.

Speaker:

And it was so cool.

Speaker:

And I'm so stoked.

Speaker:

I am too.

Speaker:

And I, I so appreciate that you offered

Speaker:

us an adventure.

Speaker:

And having a great day is all about

Speaker:

having adventures.

Speaker:

So you don't have to know all the

Speaker:

parts of this adventure.

Speaker:

Just know that you're going on one and

Speaker:

just be open to the possibilities of this

Speaker:

adventure, which we did.

Speaker:

And here we are.

Speaker:

And I am so excited to say that

Speaker:

I'm wrapping up season one and now season

Speaker:

two is on the horizon.

Speaker:

And thank you for being a part of

Speaker:

that and joining me.

Speaker:

And I just I can't thank you enough.

Speaker:

And, and to Wendy and Elle and Tammy

Speaker:

and her daughter.

Speaker:

And it's just been, it's just been such

Speaker:

a, and Christine.

Speaker:

And what I appreciate is that.

Speaker:

Oh, cause Christine does surf on the edge,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I just want to make sure that I,

Speaker:

I want to name drop everybody.

Speaker:

Shannon is Tammy's daughter.

Speaker:

And Christine, okay.

Speaker:

Thank you.

Speaker:

Cause I was like, Oh, I just met

Speaker:

Shannon.

Speaker:

It's hard to keep track of everybody.

Speaker:

Well, that's what, and again, here's the best

Speaker:

part.

Speaker:

Like in the past, we've been like, I

Speaker:

can't remember if it's like, no, just go

Speaker:

for it.

Speaker:

Just start name and name.

Speaker:

It's going to come to you.

Speaker:

Thank you, Danielle for, cause I just met

Speaker:

Shannon and it's just so much fun.

Speaker:

And again, adventures continue and having great days

Speaker:

include continuing adventures.

Speaker:

And so that's why I just appreciate that

Speaker:

we are on a continuing adventure.

Speaker:

So although I, I am saying chow for

Speaker:

now to you.

Speaker:

I'm so excited that we're going to, we're

Speaker:

going to pick up where we left off

Speaker:

in season two, and that's going to be

Speaker:

very exciting.

Speaker:

So thank you for being a part of

Speaker:

this journey with me, not only helping me

Speaker:

create my journey, but being a part of

Speaker:

this podcast with me because you're outstanding and

Speaker:

I love you with all my heart.

Speaker:

Well, you are outstanding and I love you

Speaker:

with all my heart as well.

Speaker:

And I just thought of a really lovely

Speaker:

thing for me to say to say thank

Speaker:

you.

Speaker:

And goodbye is instead of waffling on, I'm

Speaker:

just going to say chow.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

Thank you, darling.

Speaker:

You are the best.

Speaker:

And I give a big round of applause

Speaker:

to Danielle Benzon.

Speaker:

Yay.

Speaker:

The Inspired Speaker Academy is a great place

Speaker:

to get your speak on telling you.

Speaker:

And the course is great.

Speaker:

And this podcast has been epic.

Speaker:

And I, I wanted to share in, as

Speaker:

I'm wrapping up this, this first season, it

Speaker:

has been so amazing.

Speaker:

I have so appreciated the love and support.

Speaker:

I do want to thank Danielle again, especially

Speaker:

for those moments where those moments that were

Speaker:

many moments where I got to feel like

Speaker:

a VIP rockstar.

Speaker:

I just, I felt both sides.

Speaker:

I felt like the rockstar.

Speaker:

I felt like the VIP behind the, you

Speaker:

know, just, just all the things when you

Speaker:

allow yourself to let someone give you tools

Speaker:

to have a great day, that's really important.

Speaker:

And that's one of the things we're going

Speaker:

to be talking about in season two.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

As I try to wrap it up, I

Speaker:

do want to say having a great day

Speaker:

does take a bit of planning and it

Speaker:

can happen organically.

Speaker:

But what I especially appreciate is that when

Speaker:

you allow people in your life that give

Speaker:

you the tools, the opportunity, the openness, it's

Speaker:

really wonderful when you let people into your

Speaker:

life.

Speaker:

So I would just encourage us to just

Speaker:

take a moment and think of someone that

Speaker:

we've let into our life that has helped

Speaker:

us have great days that we, we knew

Speaker:

they could, but in ways we didn't even

Speaker:

think possible.

Speaker:

And right now, yes.

Speaker:

Closing my eyes, thinking of Danielle.

Speaker:

And it is nice to take a pause

Speaker:

and think of someone that you appreciate.

Speaker:

And I appreciate all of you.

Speaker:

And I'm really glad that we are on

Speaker:

an adventure together on learning how to develop

Speaker:

having a great day.
