How to Listen Within, Align and Become Your Authentic Self

How to Listen Within, Align and Become Your Authentic Self

In this episode of The Awakening Woman on the Rise, Wendy explores what becomes possible when we question the beliefs and limitations we’ve accepted as truth.

She invites listeners to pause, become still, and look within for answers that feel genuinely aligned, rather than living according to expectations inherited from family, society, or past experiences. Drawing from her own journey, Wendy shares how questioning what she once believed was possible opened the door to dreams she had previously dismissed.

This episode is an invitation to reconnect with your intuition, embrace change, and recognize the possibilities beyond what currently feels realistic. Wendy reminds women of the power of their voices, compassion, courage, and authentic selves—and the important role they can play in creating a better world for everyone.

The Shift Beneath the Words:

  • Question the beliefs that are keeping you small
  • Pause, become still, and listen within
  • Be willing to imagine new possibilities
  • Embrace your authentic voice and feminine power
  • Your growth contributes to a better world

Speaker:

You are listening to the Awakening Woman on

Speaker:

the Rise.

Speaker:

If you are a woman who is seeking

Speaker:

to live a more authentic life but are

Speaker:

feeling not enough to step out fully just

Speaker:

yet, you are in the right place.

Speaker:

If you are a woman who is looking

Speaker:

to live your personal truth and make the

Speaker:

impact you truly desire, you are in the

Speaker:

right place.

Speaker:

I'm your host, Wendy Yacboski.

Speaker:

Let's step out in this together.

Speaker:

So what I'm feeling called to remind us

Speaker:

about is the willingness to question what we

Speaker:

have thought is the truth up until now.

Speaker:

And how you'll know how it needs to

Speaker:

be questioned or whether it needs to be

Speaker:

questioned is if things aren't going well in

Speaker:

your life in terms of what you're wanting

Speaker:

to do, how free you're feeling to do

Speaker:

what you want to do.

Speaker:

Because if you're not feeling free in what

Speaker:

you want to do, then there's a belief

Speaker:

behind that.

Speaker:

There's an experience behind that that is still,

Speaker:

how can I say, grabbing onto you in

Speaker:

some way, wanting to keep you smaller.

Speaker:

And maybe not to get that truth of

Speaker:

yours that is your soul truth out into

Speaker:

the world.

Speaker:

There's so many other things that I think

Speaker:

are so important to remember.

Speaker:

And that is that if we're wanting to

Speaker:

find our truest answer, our authentic answer, we

Speaker:

need to find it within.

Speaker:

You'll remember me saying that in order to

Speaker:

find that true answer within, we need to

Speaker:

pause.

Speaker:

We need to pause, we need to become

Speaker:

still, and then we need to listen.

Speaker:

It's amazing, you know, I'm just reminded of

Speaker:

when I've done various exercises in groups that

Speaker:

I've been in, and they say, you know,

Speaker:

list the top 20 things that are most

Speaker:

important to you in life, the things that

Speaker:

you want to achieve.

Speaker:

And, you know, you write and write and

Speaker:

write.

Speaker:

What I learned was that the first 20

Speaker:

are what I always think.

Speaker:

It doesn't go down further.

Speaker:

So the top 20 things that we think

Speaker:

that we really want in life or to

Speaker:

do in life are really just scratching the

Speaker:

surface.

Speaker:

And when we can allow ourselves to push

Speaker:

beyond 20 and to be more still within

Speaker:

ourself and see what bubbles up that, oh,

Speaker:

yeah, I really want that.

Speaker:

And it's a whole different feeling in the

Speaker:

body.

Speaker:

It's like the body is saying, yes, yes,

Speaker:

this is what it is.

Speaker:

This is what it is.

Speaker:

So we need to be willing to push

Speaker:

out.

Speaker:

We need to be willing to question and

Speaker:

we need to be willing to push out,

Speaker:

but not with the force of the mind,

Speaker:

but to be open to feeling within and

Speaker:

remembering what it is that's important to us.

Speaker:

I know that when this podcast became a

Speaker:

gleam in my eye, do you know what

Speaker:

brought me to it?

Speaker:

Remembering a fantasy I had, a fantasy that

Speaker:

even though you're hearing me solo these few

Speaker:

times to get to know me better, what

Speaker:

I remembered in this fantasy was that when

Speaker:

I would watch an interviewer interviewing people, which

Speaker:

I will be doing further on in the

Speaker:

podcast, I thought to myself, it was as

Speaker:

simple as I could do that.

Speaker:

I want to do that.

Speaker:

But at that time it was on television

Speaker:

and I had a belief that television is

Speaker:

not in my lot in life.

Speaker:

So give it up, Wendy.

Speaker:

But times change and now there's video, which

Speaker:

makes it more accessible to not only me,

Speaker:

but to everyone.

Speaker:

So now I can do that interviewing, mining

Speaker:

the gold in others and helping others to

Speaker:

have a new thought about themselves, a new

Speaker:

belief about what's possible.

Speaker:

Because if we're not listening to others about

Speaker:

maybe what they've come through and is now

Speaker:

possible or what they used to believe would

Speaker:

never be possible and is now like, oh

Speaker:

my God, it's possible, we can never change.

Speaker:

And change is normal because life is changing

Speaker:

all the time.

Speaker:

So why wouldn't change be normal for you

Speaker:

and me?

Speaker:

It is normal.

Speaker:

And that is one of the things that

Speaker:

is so important to me about this podcast

Speaker:

in each episode is to remind us that

Speaker:

life is alive and we are, and there

Speaker:

is so much more possibility than we could

Speaker:

have ever, ever known.

Speaker:

Now, one of the other things that's really

Speaker:

important to remember is that unintentionally, I believe,

Speaker:

that we grew up learning our parents, our

Speaker:

teachers, perhaps our clergy's belief about what was

Speaker:

right in life, what was possible in life,

Speaker:

and what was right and possible for each

Speaker:

of us.

Speaker:

But if you have gotten anything from these

Speaker:

podcasts so far, you may remember that I

Speaker:

shared about how at one point at some

Speaker:

younger age, maybe in my, my, you know,

Speaker:

maybe around 15 or whatever it was, but

Speaker:

I just felt like I had maybe a

Speaker:

two-foot radius like around, around my body.

Speaker:

And I just thought, this is what I've

Speaker:

got.

Speaker:

This is my life.

Speaker:

You know, you step inside the circle, you

Speaker:

stay inside the circle, there's nothing that's mine

Speaker:

outside the circle.

Speaker:

And I can only tell you now that

Speaker:

that was the biggest untruth ever, but I

Speaker:

didn't know better.

Speaker:

So once I had the help to be

Speaker:

able to question what I believed about myself

Speaker:

and what was possible for me, my life

Speaker:

started to change.

Speaker:

Something that's really important for me to tell

Speaker:

you, because I was afraid to question myself

Speaker:

for the longest time, probably because it was

Speaker:

scary.

Speaker:

I didn't know who I'd be if I

Speaker:

wasn't living the way I've always lived.

Speaker:

But when you're with your people, and I

Speaker:

hope I'm one of your people, but when

Speaker:

you're in this podcast series, you can always

Speaker:

be safe in questioning yourself.

Speaker:

Because I believe that when you question yourself

Speaker:

with as much self-compassion as you can,

Speaker:

as much courage as you can to be

Speaker:

able to move out and up and to

Speaker:

connect with your soul and your intuition, those

Speaker:

parts of you that call to you, even

Speaker:

when you try to push them down, they

Speaker:

can call to you.

Speaker:

But there's no judgment.

Speaker:

There's no judgment in the pure universe, whatever

Speaker:

it was that got us here.

Speaker:

I don't believe there's any judgment.

Speaker:

There's only opportunity.

Speaker:

There's only opportunity to go, what if I

Speaker:

could?

Speaker:

You, my friends, are essential.

Speaker:

You are absolutely what this world needs to

Speaker:

uplevel, to shift in a way that is

Speaker:

a win-win.

Speaker:

I believe that women are brought into this

Speaker:

world with a heart, with compassion, with consideration

Speaker:

for others, on win-win.

Speaker:

And I will say, I'm not in a

Speaker:

soapbox here, but I will say that I

Speaker:

think erroneously, we have believed that in order

Speaker:

to succeed, we need to do things how

Speaker:

men do it.

Speaker:

But the thing is, is we bring our

Speaker:

feminine power into it.

Speaker:

We bring our heart into it.

Speaker:

We bring, I believe we bring a greater

Speaker:

world picture that we hold within us.

Speaker:

We can hold that.

Speaker:

And I think that the world needs every

Speaker:

woman who is willing to not only question

Speaker:

what she's come to believe about herself that

Speaker:

is making her small, but that there's a

Speaker:

courage within there.

Speaker:

There's an inspiration.

Speaker:

There's a passion.

Speaker:

There's a soul inside that has something absolutely

Speaker:

what the world needs.

Speaker:

Absolutely what the world needs.

Speaker:

We have such a great capacity within ourselves

Speaker:

to help co-create a world where everyone

Speaker:

wins.

Speaker:

And that's what I want to see for

Speaker:

the world.

Speaker:

And I invite you to join me in

Speaker:

this because as one grows, I believe we

Speaker:

all grow.

Speaker:

And so let's grow together in courage, in

Speaker:

what's possible, and what's beyond what we might

Speaker:

think is realistic right now.

Speaker:

Truly, the world needs every one of us

Speaker:

to become the better world that serves everyone,

Speaker:

that represents everyone.

Speaker:

I am focusing on women because at this

Speaker:

point, I believe that women have been less

Speaker:

supported in being vocal, in being active in

Speaker:

what's important to them, in living their life.

Speaker:

In this, I am going to be creating

Speaker:

a membership for women and all who are

Speaker:

sensitive to living our life to the fullest,

Speaker:

listening to our soul, bringing forth what's a

Speaker:

win-win for everyone.

Speaker:

And so as we move along, I invite

Speaker:

you to let me know if you and

Speaker:

when you are interested and ready to step

Speaker:

forward into a community that will really value

Speaker:

you, really support you, see your strengths and

Speaker:

help you to know you are so welcome

Speaker:

beyond this podcast.

Speaker:

You are welcome in this world and it's

Speaker:

going forward.

Speaker:

I really, really value you and I look

Speaker:

forward to meeting with you in community as

Speaker:

we move forward together in making this world

Speaker:

a better place for all.

Speaker:

Thank you for being here.
