You are listening to the Awakening Woman on

Speaker:

the Rise.

Speaker:

If you are a woman who is seeking

Speaker:

to live a more authentic life but are

Speaker:

feeling not enough to step out fully just

Speaker:

yet, you are in the right place.

Speaker:

If you are a woman who is looking

Speaker:

to live your personal truth and make the

Speaker:

impact you truly desire, you are in the

Speaker:

right place.

Speaker:

I'm your host, Wendy Yacboski.

Speaker:

Let's step out in this together.

Speaker:

So welcome to Episode 6 of Season 1.

Speaker:

Season 2 is going to contain multiple interviews

Speaker:

for my podcast and I'm really looking forward

Speaker:

to doing them.

Speaker:

And I thought that maybe for this last

Speaker:

episode, I would share a story that is

Speaker:

close to my heart that was when I

Speaker:

began life coaching.

Speaker:

And it was with a woman who came

Speaker:

to me because she really wanted to start

Speaker:

something that she was passionate about.

Speaker:

And that was about starting an organic garden,

Speaker:

not just for herself, but it was something

Speaker:

that she wanted to do to serve others,

Speaker:

to have an income.

Speaker:

It was really, really important to her.

Speaker:

But her problem was that she said her

Speaker:

husband wouldn't allow her to.

Speaker:

I've heard that a lot, that my husband,

Speaker:

my family, my employer, my whoever it is,

Speaker:

won't allow me to.

Speaker:

And you might recognize something for yourself that

Speaker:

there have been times when you, like I,

Speaker:

have thought somebody else was stopping me from

Speaker:

doing something that I really wanted to do.

Speaker:

So we had our session together and I

Speaker:

listened to her story, what was important to

Speaker:

her and how she thought this wasn't going

Speaker:

to work for her husband.

Speaker:

And I just asked her a simple question.

Speaker:

Have you talked with him about your passion?

Speaker:

Have you talked with him about this idea?

Speaker:

And she said, no, I haven't.

Speaker:

Because he wouldn't be up for it.

Speaker:

He wouldn't be interested in it.

Speaker:

And I said, I invite you, I encourage

Speaker:

you to have a discussion with him.

Speaker:

Tell him what's important to you, why it's

Speaker:

important to you, and see what he says

Speaker:

about it then.

Speaker:

And what happened was, when she came back

Speaker:

to me, was that he was totally for

Speaker:

her.

Speaker:

It was not about her husband saying no.

Speaker:

It was about her inner fear of doing

Speaker:

it herself.

Speaker:

And so, as I kept in touch with

Speaker:

her, this garden became very successful and even

Speaker:

more important than the success of her garden

Speaker:

was the success that she felt in authenticating

Speaker:

herself, her desire, her ability, the possibility to

Speaker:

exceed in something that was very important to

Speaker:

her.

Speaker:

And I know that we go through this.

Speaker:

Each of us goes through this.

Speaker:

A part of us gets so afraid.

Speaker:

Sometimes it's not even a conscious fear, right?

Speaker:

It's a fear that goes, oh no, oh

Speaker:

no, oh no, that's not going to work.

Speaker:

No, it can't do that.

Speaker:

And so, we look for someone to go,

Speaker:

it's not going to work because of him

Speaker:

or her or them.

Speaker:

And it's not until we actually take that

Speaker:

risk of moving toward and in that goal

Speaker:

that we come to realize our own true

Speaker:

agency.

Speaker:

We might not call it agency.

Speaker:

We might call it following what we really

Speaker:

want, but we start to recognize our agency

Speaker:

in being able to do that.

Speaker:

And not only that person who seemed to

Speaker:

be in our mind against us doing what

Speaker:

we wanted to do, they in fact become

Speaker:

an ally.

Speaker:

Now, I want to put in a caveat

Speaker:

here because not everyone that's a colleague, not

Speaker:

everyone that's a spouse or a partner or

Speaker:

a friend or a relative is necessarily going

Speaker:

to be our ally because let's face it,

Speaker:

sometimes when we're doing the thing that really

Speaker:

juices us and gives us fulfillment, others in

Speaker:

our life can go, I'm not doing that.

Speaker:

Oh my God, there must be something wrong

Speaker:

with me.

Speaker:

And it's kind of like almost what happens

Speaker:

is they can try to bring us to

Speaker:

where they are again.

Speaker:

And so what's really, really important is taking

Speaker:

the time to remind ourselves, not just intellectually,

Speaker:

but on a feeling level, the passion that

Speaker:

we have for it, the desire that we

Speaker:

have for it to first help ourself.

Speaker:

I really want to emphasize that it's us

Speaker:

whose life we're living.

Speaker:

So we want to validate ourselves and we

Speaker:

want to see in our mind's eye and

Speaker:

feel in our hearts how good it feels

Speaker:

to contribute to others as well as to

Speaker:

ourselves in this thing that we want to

Speaker:

do.

Speaker:

Maybe we just realized that we wanted to

Speaker:

do it.

Speaker:

Maybe we've wanted to do it forever.

Speaker:

It doesn't matter.

Speaker:

What matters is that we're doing it now.

Speaker:

And now as Louise Hay used to say

Speaker:

all the time, now is the point of

Speaker:

power.

Speaker:

I've said before about how little steps are

Speaker:

or baby steps are the way forward.

Speaker:

So every step we take builds the confidence

Speaker:

that it is that we're looking for.

Speaker:

And every step of confidence builds this beautiful

Speaker:

idea that we have in whatever way is

Speaker:

important to us and helps give us a

Speaker:

space to be inspired as to not only

Speaker:

how can this work, but in right timing,

Speaker:

how can this actually work better, even better?

Speaker:

And so we grow and we expand.

Speaker:

And maybe you'll be like me.

Speaker:

I shared that story with you about how

Speaker:

one time in my life at a much

Speaker:

younger age, but still old enough, where I

Speaker:

thought I had this lot in life, this

Speaker:

kind of square of about a foot around

Speaker:

me that I thought was my lot in

Speaker:

life.

Speaker:

It was so not true.

Speaker:

What I came to learn that once I

Speaker:

started taking the steps that presented themselves to

Speaker:

me, that felt right to me when I

Speaker:

listened in, are what helped me be able

Speaker:

to look back and go, I was wrong

Speaker:

about that.

Speaker:

And I'm so glad I was because now

Speaker:

my life has more meaning.

Speaker:

It has more depth.

Speaker:

It has more passion.

Speaker:

It has more juice.

Speaker:

That's what really matters, wouldn't you say?

Speaker:

This might sound like kind of an extreme

Speaker:

thing to say, but if we can actually

Speaker:

ever be conscious at that time in our

Speaker:

life when we make our transition from form

Speaker:

to the non-form, would you not want

Speaker:

to be remembering how good it felt to

Speaker:

be you?

Speaker:

How good it felt to give to others

Speaker:

from the truth of who you are, that

Speaker:

very sacred, and I do mean sacred, that

Speaker:

very special gift you have to give that

Speaker:

you gave it.

Speaker:

And I just really support you in knowing

Speaker:

with me that there's really nothing better to

Speaker:

remember, to know, to breathe into, to do

Speaker:

the step, and to be able to be

Speaker:

a conscious or not conscious example, a subconscious

Speaker:

example, maybe that might be a better word,

Speaker:

to others who are feeling the way I

Speaker:

felt, the way you felt before you started

Speaker:

going, yes, this is important to me, and

Speaker:

I value it.

Speaker:

So you are an example, whether you're conscious

Speaker:

of it or not conscious of it.

Speaker:

And I know that all of us make

Speaker:

a difference in this world, becoming a better

Speaker:

place when we can live from that part

Speaker:

of us that we came here with, that

Speaker:

is ours to live, and others need whatever

Speaker:

that is.

Speaker:

Please know there is no big and no

Speaker:

small, there's just what I call love and

Speaker:

service and being the truth of ourselves.

Speaker:

I'm so looking forward to seeing you in

Speaker:

the next season.

Speaker:

And I invite you to just take a

Speaker:

moment to pause, get still, and listen within

Speaker:

to what is yours.

Speaker:

In what you've heard today, or in any

Speaker:

episode, before you move on to your next

Speaker:

activity, to just land in yourself.

Speaker:

What is truly next for me?

Speaker:

What is that baby step?

Speaker:

Because I know that this activity or thing

Speaker:

or relationship is what is speaking to me

Speaker:

right here and right now, and I have

Speaker:

what I need to move forward.

Speaker:

I am with you, and you are with

Speaker:

you.

Speaker:

I know that.

Speaker:

So be with you, your precious, beautiful self,

Speaker:

moving forward here and now.

Speaker:

All the best.
